Hearts and Minds

Whatching the movie Hearts and Minds has been a big part of this weeks work.
Sure, this movie is all about how horrible the war were for the Vietnamese people and how wrong USA was go into Vietnam. But it also show how many people were brain-washed into believeng that America was just trying to get rid of communism. Many pilots were interviwed in this movie and they talk about how they had been trained to think that the Vietnamese people were evil communists. These pilots dropped many bombs over Vietnam but they never saw the outcome of this act, how children, mothers and fathers were killed and injured by the bombs.
You can also hear many speaches in this movie, these people justify the Vietnam War in different ways, but one common reason were that USA was the only one who could help Vietnam to get rid of the horrible rule of communism.

I have also searched for Internet pages this week, and I have at least found one who I think is quite good and can be of some help to me.

This article takes up abit about how USA tried to cover up different stories about Vietnam, stories that would show USA as a bad country. If this information would reach the people of the United States it could make the American people to feel even more resentment towards the Vietnam War and the American intervention.
