I have read a lots of pages about Shamil, and I have tried to link him to the cold war as much as possible.
I have found out that he served in the soviet air force for a very long time donno when he joined it but he served the air force until 1991. I also read that when he served the soviet army he managed to build a grudge against it because of the fact that russia invaded chechnya and shamil is a chechen.
